High Quality High Resolution DVI to HDMI adapter
I had a Nvidia 750Ti that would no work reliably in 2560 x 1440 resolution on an HDMI cable even though the card is rated up 4K. Monitor would turn off all by itself think there was no signal. So I purchased this DVI-I because it does support higher resolution. This is one of the few that specifically states it works with higher resolution. Upon installation, it worked perfect immediately and no problems with high resolution or monitor turning off. SWEET AWESOME ADAPTER. AWESOME PRICE. WORKS EXACTLY AS DESCRIBED. Quality is high. Easy to install. No instructions but who needs them. No retail packaging but who needs to pay an additional $10.00 just to fight pulling out of blister wrap then throwing it away. Thank you. NOT a DVD-D Connector. Has four extra pins and a too-wide GND pin. Works as DVD-D to HDMI if those are ground properly.
Note that this is a DVI-I Dual Link connector. It is NOT a DVD-D Single Link Connector; which is what most connectors on Flat Screen Monitors or any other piece of equipment are now-a-days. "Graphics cards which have a DVI-I connector are fully compatible with flat panel LCD monitors which typically have DVI-D cables." (You just need the correct cable) However, "The DVI-D cable reads only the digital signal from the DVI-I connector on the graphics card and ignore the analog signal." Thus, the extra four pins on a DVI-I connector are the analog pins. This connector has four extra pins and a wider ground pin. If you use a Dremel tool and grind off the four extra pins (without shorting them together) and then grind about 1/16" off both sides of the ground pin then it works perfectly in a ... Note that this is a DVI-I Dual Link connector. It is NOT a DVD-D Single Link Connector; which is what most connectors on Flat Screen Monitors or any other piece of equipment are now-a-days. I first ground some off with the Dremel tool (after having ground off the four pins), then used a needle file to grind the two sides of the GND connector until it plugged-in to the port. Afterwards, thought, it worked just as a DVI-D connector would have. I was having problems with my Dell monitor because the VGA to HDMI adapter would sometimes make the image jitter and ghost for unknown reasons. Now, with this modified adapter plug, it works. However, I would suggest that you get a DVI-D Single Link (24 pin + 1 pin) Male to HDMI cable instead of this adapter. They only cost from $3 to $7 and you will not have to also have an HDMI to HDMI cable to plug into this adapter. Note the difference between the DVI-I connector and a DVI-D connector in the photo.

Not compatible with standard DVI and STANDARD HDMI
It does not convert . I have plugged to DVI connector and HDMI to monitor HDMI input. Signal did not go through. Other adapters this type work well. Perhaps some configuration is wrong. What is this DUAL LINK?

Good product for the money. Can't go wrong with it. If it didn't work for you then you probably bought the wrong part or don't know what are you toying with. I used it to connect a 2005 Mac Mini 1.42G4 to a 2012 Samsung TV.
