    Best bass string out there

    I have used these D'Addario rounds since the early 70s and in fact now there are only two kinds of strings I use for bass--these and the half-rounds (ENRs). You just can't get a better sounding string for any bass that I have used and these include all styles of Hofner Violins, Fenders and Squiers, Schecter studio basses, even a Pedulla. The tonal range is untouchable and every note on every string perfectly even in presence. And to top it off they are usually among the least expensive strings you can buy.

    Great Sound and Durable

    I'm just a banger who plays once or twice a week with some buddies, and for my own personal studio work, all non professional. Still I've been at it for over fifty years and have never found a better, longer lasting set of strings then D'Addario. I generally buy the ten packs for frugality, but change them every six months or so, but its only because I prefer the sight and sound of changing the strings so I can clean and polish the guitar. I've never broken or had a string go sour. Clean them after every use, and they may outlive you.

    Great sound, full spectrum/range, very long lasting

    I have been using these D'Addario EXL 170 strings on my basses since the 70's. They give a great full range from deep bottom to super bright, crisp highs. They last forever and only get better with age.

    Great sounding strings that work on both ends of the frequency range as well as both ends of the tonal spectrum. I have used these on almost all my basses since 1974 and I still think they are the best.
