Fun With Dick & Jane
So-so remake of the superior 1976 George Segal/Jane Fonda comedy. A young couple living the American dream have to beg, borrow and (especially) steal when the husband loses his job. It has its moments - and Tea Leoni is great as the wife and Jim Carrey is, thankfully, less manic than usual.

So I wasn't that struck on his 'remake' of what was (and is) a satire on American business, which could just as well be transferred to a British setting in today's world. That it touches on recession is an irony given the present situation, but the leading actors play their parts with aplomb, and that most important ingredient in comedy, timing.
