Another flawed Ryan Adams LP
This was the first of three albums he released in 2005 and suffers from being a double release. It could have made a brilliant single LP and there are some great songs here and sounds great due to his band The Cardinals who get co-writing credits. They really help beef up the songs which are more like the older Heartbreaker or even Whiskeytown stuff. Cold Roses... Hot Stuff!!!
Really good album (fits onto one 80 minute CD but its on 2 CDs but who cares?) I'd say it lies somewhere between Heartbreaker and Rock N Roll in terms of the songs. Ryan has been playing a lot of these songs live over the past year.
