    Barbara Stanwyck's Lady of Burlesque

    If you love the old black & white movies then you will love this one. Based on the novel "The G-String Murders" by legendary American stripper, Gypsy Rose Lee,Barbara Stanwyck stars as Dixie Daisy, a stripper who becomes an undercover detective to investigate a ruthless assassin who has been killing the burlesque girls backstage. An entertaining blend of comedy, music, glamour, murder and mystery. classed PG and runs 90 mins approx.It is digitally remastered from the original film nevertheless the quality is acceptable.

    Burlesque lovers classic movie

    If your are a lover of vintage burlesque you will problably love this film. Compared to modern movies, the story is laboured and slow....but the outfits and routines make up for the drawn out story and it is well worth buying. The DVD will also be an inspiration for up and coming performers researching the classic burlesque genre. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

    A fabulous adaptation

    Also known as "The G-String Murders" and "Striptease lady" this is A fabulous adaptation of the book by Gypsy Rose Lee- a film that is filled with 40s glamour, and is a celebration of the beauty of burlesque, as well as the thrill of a murder mystery. An excellent film!
