Dated and buggy game - but can be fun
[1] I had problems getting the game to run - ie. graphic distortion when playing, then no sound when playing. Fortunately, I discovered simple fixes for these on forums. BUT: the game was never patched, which shows little support from the maker. [2] Graphics are quite dated by modern standards. The dialogue between characters is also very amateurish compared to other, very polished games (including OLDER ones like Half Life 1). [3] The action was average. If you just want to spend some having a good blast, it's fun - but don't expect more than that. [4] The game is gory and in some was quite nasty. I'd suggest parents didn't just pass it on to a young kid without either playing through first or watching. Conclusion: Its an old game that does show it's age. It's annoying that I (and lots ... I like first-person shooters and I'll like playing simple ones inbetween the more elaborate kinds (eg. Bioshock) just for a bit of fun where you can relax and switch your brain to low gear. Shellshock fits into this category, but when I finished it I knew I'd never have any desire to go back. For what I paid (about £4.00), it wasn't bad - after all, its cheaper than a cinema ticket to see some remake!
