After Mr Earnshaw's death, Heathcliff is bullied and humiliated by Catherine's brother Hindley and wrongly believing that his love for Catherine is not reciprocated, leaves Wuthering Heights, only to return years later as a wealthy and polished man. He proceeds to exact a terrible revenge for his former miseries. The action of the story is chaotic and unremittingly violent, but the accomplished handling of a complex structure, the evocative descriptions of the lonely moorland setting and the poetic grandeur of vision combine to make this unique novel a masterpiece of English literature. AUTHOR: Emily Jane Bronte (30 July 1818 - 19 December 1848) was an English novelist and poet, now best remembered for her only novel Wuthering Heights, a classic of English literature. Emily was the second eldest of the three surviving Bronte sisters, between Charlotte and Anne. She published under the androgynous pen name Ellis Bell.

Exactly what I wanted but the smell of the book was incredibly strong like one of the old old books from the back of the library so I left it to sit by an open window for couple hours before reading. Apart from that it was exactly what I asked for.

The condtion of this second-hand book did not match the description
The book is of course EXCELLENT. What I don't like is the misleading description of the condition of this second-hand book. From the description I assumed that the condtion was good with perhaps just a small marking relating to the previous owner at the opening page. In fact the book has clearly been damaged by water and a number of the pages were bent back.
