Designed specifically for mid sized offices and home networks needing a more powerful system, users can easily connect a multitude of devices with a simple and convenient hub. The Dell PowerConnect 5324 Ethernet Switch can be up to date and compliant with many internet standards (and interfaces), offering a reliable experience each and every use. Moreover, this connectivity component offers remote management via the HTTP interface, HTTPS interface, RMON, Telnet interface, SNMP-1, SNMP-2, and SNMP-2c protocols.Port configuration can be simple since the Dell PowerConnect 5324 offers numerous configurations for ports. These include 24 10/100/1000 Base-T ports and 4 SFP slots (for fiber-optic connectivity support). Users can appreciate the performance of this powerful switch, offering up to 48GB/s as well as forwarding rates of up to 35.6MP/s. While in use, this connectivity component processes connection requests with four priority queues per port, layer 2 IEEE 902.1p tagging, and port-based level 3 priority. It also features adjustable weighted round-robin (WRR) and strict priority scheduling. Network administrators can find the LACP support, jumbo frame support (up to 9000 bytes), and dynamic VLAN VFRP support to be useful features.The Dell PowerConnect 5324 Ethernet switch has serious dedication to security and protecting precious data from prying eyes. This connectivity component can offer a number of security measures to prevent data theft, including Edge authentication and switch access password protection. Others security features include port based MAC address alerts, RADIUS and TACACS+ support for remote access, SSLV3 and SSHV2 encryption, and more. Further, this Dell PowerConnect component can allow network admins to easily manage it via Management Access Profiles.Under the hood, the users can appreciate and benefit from a plethora of other integrated features. These include port mirroring, Syslog support, BOOTP support, IGMP snooping, Broadcast Strom Control, DHCP support, and even auto negotiation settings. Furthermore, the Dell PowerConnect comes fully equipped with 64MB of dedicated SDRAM, 16MB of integrated memory, and allows up to 8K MAC address table entries. Beyond this, the device can offer external redundant power support as well as Spanning Tree Protocol & Rapid Spanning Tree Protocol link support. It also can offer dual firmware image compatibility and the ability for the configuration file to easily be uploaded and/or downloaded.However, the device can offer a smaller form factor than you might think. It has a width of 17.2 inches, a height of 1.6 inches, and a depth of roughly 10 inches. It weighs about 8 pounds. Once the unit arrives, admins will find this hardware easy to integrate into their existing firmware system with the included rack mounting kit. The device can be easy to install and set up while also offering a wide array of powerful features. The recommended temperature range for the Dell PowerConnect 5324 internet switch is 32 to 104 degrees Fahrenheit, and the recommended humidity range is 10% to 90%.
