George Sanders was awarded Best Supporting Actor for his biting portrayal of potent, nasty theater critic Addison DeWitt.     One of motion pictures best efforts

    All About Eve is a movie classic. The movie holds the record for most academy award nominations. The characters in the movie imitated the stars personal life. One of Bette Davis's best performances, along with Thelma Ritter, George Sanders, Gary Merrill & Celeste Holm. I gave this DVD as a gift, but still continue to watch in whenever I am in the mood for good theatre.

    Bette at her best

    Great film that goes by too fast. Won't review the story line in detail here; IMDB or any other movie review site can give the full analysis. This is a dated piece, of course, but the acting is very good and you do get engaged. I think this is more of a "chick flick," but my husband agreed it wasn't bad. (And there's even a short party scene with a very young Marilyn Monroe.)

    I bought the movie because Marilyn Monroe is in it. She has a very small but funny and well done part. Wished there had been more of her. Ended up enjoying the movie very much. It is all about the actors and the deceit that goes on and also all of the egos that compete with each other. Very dramatic and very good!
