A smartphone cage can be better that a case.
As a "cage" it offers benefits not provided by smartphone cases. Thanks to the handles, holding the phone steady is easier. It also offers ways to attach various devices such as an external microphone for interviewing while standing. In short it is well worth the cost, particularly in comparison to the $30 or so many cases cost.
