    top quality, superb lens

    I bought this lens because I really like this focal length for street photography and getting close ups of my kids. Bjørn Rørslett's review of this lens on naturfotograf.com led me to believe that this was the one for me. I love the wide aperture and out of focus backgrounds that it produces, I don't like that it is quite difficult to focus these manual focus lenses on modern DSLR cameras even the very good ones. However this is a fantastic lens and I would highly recommend it to anyone wanting the very top quality 35mm manual focus

    Unsurpassed Nikon quality, can't get better for your money!

    This lens was purchased to shoot video professionally on a Canon 5D MKIII and has exceeded my expectations. The manual focus mechanism is simply amazing, better than lenses that are many times price I paid for this. If you are in the market for all manual prime lenses to shoot video with, the Nikons of this era seem to have superbly sharp optics and unsurpassed mechanics and thoroughly deserve their outstanding reputation.

    The best for Nikon. The lens you must always carry in your bag!!!!

    Great lens from Nikon. Metal and not plastic. Very sharp since f 2 and very bright. The focus ring is very accurate and with the right clutch. Don't forget to put in your bag even if you have a zoom mounted in your camera!!!! A fix lens make it different!!!! Alessandro

    Nikon Nikkor 35mm f/1.4 AI-S Lens

    Probably the best manual lens that Nikon ever made. Very fast for 35mm focal length. Compared to the 35mm f/2.8 lens I owned previously it is a little bulky and feels heavy on an FM2N body, but that's a minor niggle.
