Bust A Groove is a dancing simulation that features 10 different dancers all motion-captured after professionals. Each character has their own unique wardrobe and dancing style; Hiro is patterned after John Travolta from Saturday Night Fever and Frida is a funky 17-year-old artist that likes to get her groove on. Gameplay options include One-Player, Two-Player, Dance View, and Practice modes. In the One-Player game, the idea is to out-dance your opponents by executing moves in time to the beat. Using a dance command system reminiscent of PaRappa the Rappa, players will press button combinations in conjunction to the icons displayed on the screen. The better you do, the more the camera focuses on your character; the idea is to have the camera completely on you by the end of the song. Additionally, there is an Enthusiasm Gauge that measures how much the crowd is into your dancing. By executing tricky maneuvers, it will skyrocket, but if the moves aren't in synch with the rhythm, you'll get booed and the gauge will drop. Players are given the opportunity to execute either easy moves (located at the top of the screen) or harder moves (at the bottom), which also affects the Enthusiasm Gauge. The Practice mode teaches new players all the basics of how to execute simple maneuvers and the harder combinations and dance solos. When you feel confident enough, challenge your friend to a no-frills dance-off with the Two-Player option. Each player selects a character and enters a heated battle for the king or queen of the dance floor. Once you've cleared some of the One-Player scenarios, the Dance View option becomes available. This option gives those armchair dance choreographers a chance to program a character's dance moves. Players can pan the camera, zoom in at specific times, change routes, increase the speed, and perform other tweaks. So what are you waiting for? Get out on the dance floor and Bust A Groove!

I'm not waiting a week to tell you that I am never ordering from this vendor again. Zero customer service, when I try to contact its not delivered. I appreciate the fact the game came quickly however the game though described as "very good" in condition didn't run in my Xbox and no matter what I did it will not read it. Fan of the game and wanted to have it again and that is exactly what I got. Was Well packaged, no damage original jewel case with book as showed in the picture best of all great condition of the disc, no scratches. 10/10

Bust A Groove. What can I say about this work of art? Plenty. For those of you that are 20 years old and over, remember when Blockbuster Videos was a big deal, before the years of Netflix, Red Box Movies, etc? I remember walking into Blockbuster for a month straight back in the 90s when I was about 8 or 9, crossing my fingers that this game was available for rent in the Playstation section. When I finally timed everything right and was able to rent BAG, I was ecstatic. The ride back home seemed like it went on for eons (even though it was more like 10 minutes). Once I got back home and popped that baby in my Playstation, I quickly learned something.... I SUCKED. My character wasn't dancing! The only time my character moved was when I became the victim of a "Jammer ... Bust A Groove. What can I say about this work of art? Plenty. Slowly, I began to understand what I needed to do, and worked my way up the ladder of BAG success, all the way past the vogue-loving Robo-Z. BAG was way ahead of its time. These games like Dance Dance Revolution and all that jazz...they don't compare to BAG in my opinion. BAG was not only entertainment, it was a look into the realm of dance and culture. You had Kelly, who did Bump-and-Grind, you had Heat, who was a break-dancer, Kitty-N who was a jazz dancer, Frida, who practiced dancing originating from Africa, Gas-O, who danced House/Break-dance, Strike, who was a Hip-Hop dancer, and numerous other characters that invited BAG players into the wonderful world of dance expression. BAG shaped who I am as a person. It may sound weird, but this game helped me through some tough times during my life. I just which 989 Studios and Enix would merge together again and make a 3rd BAG. There are PLENTY of fans out there who would be overjoyed to see that masterpiece. This game will provide players with countless (I cannot even count how many hours I played..and STILL play this game) hours of fun, exhilarating fun. Like others have said, the soundtrack is remarkable, and it still sounds wonderful to this day. If you are unsure about purchasing this game, please be certain that after you master the technique of this game, you will never want to give it away. I know plenty of people who have loaned this game to individuals, only to never see it return again. Do yourself a favor and try out Bust A Groove. You will fall in love with the gameplay, the characters, the dance styles, and most definitely, the bass-pounding music. Speaking of music, my favorite songs from BAG are: "2 Bad" (Heat), "Transform" (Kelly), "Bust-A-Groove" (Kitty-N), and "Power" (Strike). This game has been a part of my Playstation stash for over 13 years, and will include to be one of my all-time favorite games of all times. I know the price may be a little high, but it is well worth it, especially since so many people are demanding/searching for the game.

One of the most addictive games of all time
Introduction: I had heard a lot of good things about this game, before I actually bought it. So I went right ahead and bought the game. Popped it in the Playstation and expected to see an above average game. I stopped playing 14 hours later. Here are the details. Gameplay 10/10 Elements 10/10: This is a dancing game. You start a level, music starts playing, and you get cued for what to press. This part of the game took me a bunch of times to get used to. Because not only do you have to press the cued action, you also have to time it with the BEAT. Each character you pick does a certain move depending on the cue you pick to execute. You will have access to more complicated dance moves as you execute a higher number of successive cues. You will also have access to special dance moves which ... Difficulty 8.5/10: The game is a bit difficult to master, and the computer opponents are not easy. However the learning curve on this is about an hour to get a bit of skill, and about 6 hours to get good at it. Story Since this is a dancing game I will not go into the story aspect of it. Because quite frankly even though there is an underlying story, there isn't much going on. But that does not affect the gameplay at all :) Audio 10/10 The music tracks on this game are GREAT. My favorite tracks where the ones for the stages for Kitty N, Shorty, and Kelly. The thing about all the tracks are, that ALL of them make you want to bust a groove!! When you hear them you just HAVE to dance!! Graphics 10/10 The graphics for this game are great for pretty much everything. From the individual character, to the backgrounds, and to all the UNIQUE looking dance moves that they bust out. The character designs themselves are very cool looking, and seem to personify the songs that accompany their respective stages. You even have a character that looks like a John Travolta clone that dances to a Saturday Night Feverish song.. Value 10/10 Value 10/10: This game is definitely worth buying, for four reasons. 1- It's a great game., 2- It's a game you can play over and over again. 3- You can play against your friends. 4- It's super addictive. Replayability: This game is ALL about replayability. You can play it over and over and over again, without getting bored. And the beauty of it is, the more you play it, the better you get, and the more fun you will have playing. Fun Factor 10/10 I won't waste too much space in here. From what you have seen from my review so far, it is pretty obvious that this game's middle name is FUN. Overall Rating 10/10 I hope this review helps someone :)

This is a great game if your looking for a fun blast from the past. Before, Guitar hero, Rockband, or Dance Dance Revolution, Bust a Groove was king. Not the most complicated game, just pure timing, and great soundtracks. I bought it because my buddy and I used to have ridiculously competitive versus matches against each other years ago, now we can rekindle the rivalry anew. If your looking for a classic game that utilizes timing, and has great music that will take you back, look no further.This is a great game if your looking for a fun blast from the past. Awesome Dance Game of all time!
When i played this game it was awesome but i never owned it and through the years i have always wanted to play it but i knew i couldnt find it in stores anymore, so i decided to purchase it on ebay, and now i own it, thanks to the person who sold it to me for a reasonable price, i enjoy playing it and thinking back when it first came out and how great it was back then and how great it is today. thanks to ebay for making purchases easy.
