In the tradition of such games as SimCity and Theme Park, Jurassic Park: Operation Genesis challenges players to do what the movie's John Hammond could not: design a dinosaur theme park from the ground-up and maintain its economic viability by keeping things safe and stable. Of course, that may be easier said than done when the "attractions" include velociraptors, tyrannosaurs, and 23 other fearsome creatures. In addition to creating the park, players must complete a series of 12 missions, ranging from dinosaur control to endurance of the ravages of nature.<br><br>Building types include kiosks to sell merchandise and food, automated feeders that dispense bales of plant food or livestock, hatcheries for cloning species, ranger stations for protection, safari depots for tours, visitor centers, sentry turrets, viewing platforms, and restrooms. Inclement weather in the form of tropical twisters and rainstorms will occur from time to time, increasing the danger that the dinosaurs will escape from their pens and start rampaging. As players assemble their park, they'll be able to listen to ten songs from John Williams' Oscar-nominated film score.<br><br>The game offers several ways to play. Players can jump right into the simulation, which simply has them trying to stay profitable as they construct the park however they want. Missions have players inside the Range Rover, helicopter, or a hot air balloon to snap pictures or shoot at the dinosaurs (using a first-person sniper scope) to bring them down or to vaccinate them from one of six types of disease. Jurassic Park: Operation Genesis also features several pre-set exercises that challenge players to follow specific objectives, such as constructing a specific number of building types while maintaining a certain percentage of satisfaction.

I appreciate the fact the game came quickly however the game though described as "very good" in condition didn't run in my Xbox and no matter what I did it will not read it. Game does not work......
I’ve waited a long time to pick this gem up to show to my sons. I put it in my Xbox, and it doesn’t work! I took it out, cleaned it, and to no avail! I can’t return it either! I’m out $64 and I have two disappointed children.

Sweet Game and yes truly HTF
OK who stretched this %$#@^& page out so long, I need a 87" wide monitor to read it without scrolling! Anyway, heres actually a legible, concise review of the game ( believe it or not) The pros: Orchestral soundtrack. Total freedom to build or destroy. Beautiful dinosaur models and sounds. Lots of blood when the prey item is eaten. Actual Characters from the movies, the voices are close too. Varied and fun missions AND world building. Being able to charge 800$ for admission (and get it) Actual twisters (waterspouts can rip through your park leaving damage. The cons Those same twisters can cause the game to lock up SOLID, be sure to save when a twister strikes. Always a good Idea to save often anyway But ALWAYS when one hits or you WILL BE sorry! Only 5 or so different people models walking around the park just lots of them not a huge gripe, but it does distract from the overall realism. The dinos seem to die too quickly, everything is time accelerated, so even if you have enough quality DNA to make them live for a year (which is not an easy task for some of the dinos) Its only like a couple hours of "real time" play so you are CONSTANTLY breeding more dino s just to keep up, with the dead and dying ones, I wish they lived longer in "real time" so I could concentrate on other aspects of the game like ride and attraction customization, and of course how to charge 70$ dollars for a salad and get away with it! "blood sucking lawyers" LOL Overall a really fun game, one of the better licensed movie games out there not to mention possibly the best console JP game on the planet.

Easy to use and entertaining!
I bought this game used recently. This game is about 7 years old but the graphics arent bad in my opinion. The feel of the game is consistently entertaining and holds your attention well without it becoming stressful or hard to follow. This would be a great game for kids and adults alike. There are tutorials to give you basics on how to play before you jump into creating your own park. The atmosphere of the game is nearly relaxing because of the music scores. Not a loud obnoxious game by any means. The most suspenseful thing I've experienced in the island's storms. I love how this game allows you to be so creative. It's a shame there hasnt been a sequal. This older Xbox game does not yield achievements for your Xbox profile unfortunately, especially since there is so much ... I bought this game used recently. There are plenty of dinosaurs, although a lot of dinosaurs were cut out of the game during development. No water dinosaurs or flying dinosaurs, just land dinosaurs. But theres still plenty enough dinosaurs to keep you busy. This will quinch your childhood desire to construct and manage your own dinosaur park. Lots of fun! My suggestion is if you have a problem with the higher price of this older game, to just buy a used copy without the case and instructions, the game has tutorials anyways.

Better than expected graphics considering its original xbox platform, this game takes you on a journey of your own making with excitement around whatever corner you choose! I bought this game for my son for Christmas . He had this game for Playstation 2 and it got broke. It is a really had to find game. If you have a child who really likes dinosaurs or Jurassic Park this is a great game. They get to make up their own park, deciding where everything should go,How many people to employ, what to charge for everything (even the bathroom). It's a one player game, But would be good for the family to just sit and try to make up the park,the game gives you ratings on your park The better your park the higher the ratings. It tells you when the park visitors are unhappy or if the really enjoy it. You have people out digging to find more and more DNA so that you can make more dinos.
