Great Orchestral Music To Accomapany A Great TV Series
Geoffrey Burgon's music for the TV series Brideshead Revisited belongs to a bygone age - much like the story itself - of quality, great casts and long running, expensive TV drama series'. The opening "Brideshead Theme", was in my view one of the best ever TV themes. The rest of the CD revisits (no pun intended) the main elements of the opening theme at various points and in various guises - and is just nice to have on, to listen to intently, or to the background to reading, perhaps, the Brideshead novel itself! It is a film that never grows old, settings are stunning,the storyline brilliant.Can be watched over and over again. The viewer will never tire from sitting through a repeated perfomance. With a Star cast, great music,it would be more difficult to find a negative comment for this film
