Beef chronicles the battles between hip hop rappers such as 2Pac and Biggie, Nas and Jay Z, 50 Cent and Ja Rule, and several others. They show beefs that originated from hip hop as far back in the 80's that shows rappers competitive edges and how they want to be the best. Some feuds are no more than publicity stunts while others can get very personal and lead to avenues that could result in violence. Rarely do these rappers let their beefs languish and most want to squash it at the very instant. It is very well directed and takes into accounts both sides of the feud. There is raw energy and a desire to prove that one rapper is bigger than the other and it is evident that these guys are going to defend their turf with everything they have. Check this doc out.
Excellent source to see how rap transformed as a way to garner respect in the 70s and 80s into the dissing of the 90s and 2000s. Great stories behind some of the biggest rivalries.
