    About zenit 11 camera

    A good classic camera, underestimated for several reasons but good quality of photos when used for everyday purposes. Good quality of colours and light. I like to have one in my collection Alexis B

    Basic Zenit For Us With A Budget ~

    Overall very cool looking camera . For amateur or intermediate with affordable price . Bit heavy but remember to get one with lens cap and case . Think the light meter functions without a battery so look for one that is working and see the needle dance which is quite interesting .

    Its a good choice to beginners/students or experieced photographers too.

    This russian piece is from the Zenit-E line. It's a model with a Selenium cell lightmeter. I have other models from the E-line (E, B, and ET) but the 11 is one of my favourites. Its all black, and equipped with automatic aperture: half pressed shutter - aperture jumps in, full pressed - exposure, untouched shutter release btn - largest aperture to find your target and your focus. It's a very good combination with lens with auto/manual apertrure changing ability. The use of the light-meter is easy so you can shoot perfect metered photos. It has 1/30, 1/60, 1/125, 1/250, 1/500 and Bulb mode for shutter speeds. If you turn the exposure btn knob to the right you can set the aperture on but no shutter pressing when turned.     Enjoy a retro experience with a Zenit 11.

    I bought this because I had an urge to get back into film photography, which was one my teenage hobbies, (many years ago). Back then I couldn't afford this sort of kit, but it's readily available now, with various extra lenses etc. included in the deals on Ebay, and for very handy money. If anyone out there fancies a go at film photography, do it. The Zenit cameras accept m42 lenses of which there are plenty available, so you can get a reasonable outfit together for a small outlay.

    Pretty good camera for it's price

    I thought i should get one of the russian cameras.. and this particular model is pretty well made, good kit lens(helios 44-6 mc). But there is still some russian-made camera inconvenieces left. Small selection of speeds and heavy in weight. Shutter snaps hard,film spacing is not always right. My particular zenit is made well, but it cannot be compared to same age olympus or nikon cameras.
