Great suburban dark comedy
One of the best examples of the BBC single play’ from the days when TV aspired to be like theatre rather than film. Very much a precursor of cringe comedy, like The Office, full of awkward moments. Would be a great episode of Inside Number 9! Alison Steadman is a standout as Beverley, but all the cast are great

Well of course many attempts has been made in the theatre to recreate The Orginal Abigail's Party, Not a chance in hell, Alison Steadman is the greatest, no one now or Ever will make it work. Some things should be held in the respect, and anyone attempting This play should be sent to moon and left there.
