This game has hard rock songs and only a couple popular rock songs. The game needs to provide a much wider variety of songs.

Ordered the games and the guitar amd have had gages for over two weeks and still waiting on the guitar ordered from eBay actually before this order stated dec 7th but now it’s delayed. I’ve ordered multiple things from various places and they have had zero delay with post office but having trouble getting my eBay ordered guitar. I’m so ready to jam out these games but I’m so disappointed that the other Marlowe dropped the ball and now I’m stuck with 5 games I can’t play.

Cool game. Similar to the 1st so if you liked that, you'll like this one. I am saddened that there is just about as much customizable stuff as the first one meaning not very much. They could have done much much more with that, especially the character builder. It seems there is only like 10 different faces and like a handful of instruments. Seems odd to have customizable stuff if there is not many options. The tatoo's are customizable but I wish the characters didn't look so generic. The World Tour is here again and is very fun. It's a good time with some friends unlocking new venues and new songs. It would be nice if they would add like a medium hard difficulty since the gap from medium to hard is steep. I've noticed it and a bunch of my friends have as well and it would greatly appreciated. I know its probably nitpicky and it takes a while to fix it but it would help the gameplay. When someone is hitting upper nineties on medium but jumping to hard causes them to hit 70s that is frustrating. I haven't played any of the online stuff but that is new in RB2. I guess you can go online alone (?) er with friends and compete with others in like a mini showdown battle of the bands type thing. Sounds fun but im sure competition could be pretty fierce. This is the type of game I don't picture going on line because people could just play it tons and destroy anyone else. The calibration thing seems to be a little better than last game but for the tv I play it on, it takes some old fashioned manual calibration. The game lets you tweak the video and audio seperately which is very nice and lets you do strumming tests and gives you an estimate of what you should set it at. I play it on an older Samsung DLP so its a little bit off but once the calibration set it it worked pretty well. I can play some Expert ones on guitar and it was really really close so I didn't notice a delay on some faster songs. Overall, good game. Like the 1st one, it is a fun party game but the single campaign is not its best moment. With a lack of customization and any sort of storyline, its not going to steer anyone away from the likes of great single players like Mass Effect 2 or Oblivion anytime soon. But with the expanded setlist and the option to import RB1 tracks in, (ten bucks, what a joke) and the DC in the RB store instantly gets put into RB2 collection, its a good buy. Get it on Ebay. Way cheaper then the store. I got it for half price 17 bucks instead of 35 at gamestop.Read full review
Graphics 9.4 The graphics in thsi game took another step up from their 2007 title Rock Band. They allow more options in customizing your character to just the way you want him. They solved the problem of hair morphing into the body. Rock Band 2 has increased the number of venues in the game so you dont get the been there feeling. The crown also looks very good compared to other music games. Graphics blow away Guitar Hero in every way. Gameplay 10 Gameplay in this game is aslo very amazing. it beats out Guitar Hero with having the ability to sing. The drum set is also a step up from Guitar Hero with better fills and more life-like feeling. Allowing four players to play at once is lso a great feature meaning nobody will be left out. Equipment 8.5 The drum set definetly took a step up with silencers built into the pads meaning you wont have to go and buy them. The foot pedal which was terrible in Rock Band is solved by making it stainless which will not lead to it ever breaking. The Guitar can lose its wireless form by sometimes not getting to the reciever in the Xbox leading to missed notes and lower scores. Song Set 9.0 The songs are the only thing in Rock Band 2 that did not go up on favoribility. Does not compare in any way to Ropck Band and some songs you just wonder if they were in the right mind set to have added it. Overall 9.2 Great game deffinetly worth buying.Read full review
I bought the product because it had a lot of very good songs on it. ...or so I thought. While about ten of the songs are recognizable (Hungry Like the Wolf by Duran Duran, Almost Easy by Avenged Sevenfold, Eye of the Tiger by Survivor, Float On by Modest Mouse, Down With the Sickness by Disturbed, Let There Be Rock by AC/DC, One Way or Another by Blondie, Livin' On A Prayer by Bon Jovi, One Step Closer by Linkin Park, Whatcha Want by Beastie Boys) the rest are mainly songs I have never even heard of. And half of them are extremely bland to sing (I only have the mic.) I found that the best way to get through those songs were just to hum, and that's not fun. At all. Where this game shines, however, is the extensive amount of DLC. The DLC content is massive, ranging from Country to Electronic to Metal. So, which was better: Guitar Hero: World Tour or Rock Band 2? Judging on song selection on initial purchase, Guitar Hero by a massive landslide.Read full review
