I have previously purchased one of these from another seller. This was faulty and quickly returned. This model has generally good reviews so I bought direct from VonHaus the second time around. Assembly is very simple and took a few minutes using just a screwdriver. Having read a few online reviews that mentioned checking the oil level, I did this and was glad I did as it was pretty empty. You really need to take the tines off to do this properly, (using two 13mm spanners), and top up with SAE 30w oil. Used for the first time and it is very effective. I wish that I'd bought one sooner. It's not something that I will use all the time but when I do it saves hours of work. You will need a garden rake to level out the soil after tilling as it digs in very effectively, The 10m lead is a good length though most people will still need an extension lead. So in summary, a cracking bit of kit at a very reasonable price - but do check the oil before first use.Read full review

I have been using this tiller to prepare ground for re turfing my lawn. The ground has many rocks, and I have been impressed by the way this inexpensive tiller has has pulled them out. If the ground had no rocks the job would be a doddle. My only criticism is that when turning the device on both hands are needed, one to push the unlock button and one to pull the lever. This means that you don’t have the best of control of the tiller as both hands are over on the right hand side . If the lock and switch could be operated with one hand a better and safer grip would be possible.

This rotavator chomps through soil like butter, really powerful and easy to use. It deals with old roots very well but if there are lots, it takes a while to untangle them. Having said that, it is a lot easier than trying to do it manually. Great buy, I cleared a 40m2 patch in 2 days, it would have taken months by hand. I did look at hiring a rotavator for this purpose but for the price of this machine buying it was a no-brainer.

It does what it says. It does bounce when it hits something hard - stones. Difficult to extract the stones/rocks if they get stuck in the tines. But, boy, what a labour saver. Done two patches of ground, one to go. Great. Would certainly recommend it as a value for money item.
