About this product

Product Information

First-person shooter, set in the near future, shortly after another disaster in Chernobyl. The authorities surround the area with the Russian equivalent of the U.S. National Guard, and they begin to hear weird screams and rumblings coming from within. After a while, though, most of them are returned to earlier posts. Curiosity also gets the better of some people, so they sneak into the 30-kilometer area to do some good old-fashioned investigating. These people are called Stalkers, and they report back to the authorities with their findings. Combining FPS, adventure, and survival horror genres with on-foot and vehicular action, STALKER features more than 100 NPCs, a large arsenal, and a slew of multiplayer modes.

    I have to stop myself playing this game. It's brilliant.

    I'm not much of a gamer but when I saw a friend playing STALKER I had to get a copy and give it a try. I'm glad I did it's by far one of the best games I have played. It's very addictive. It's become my top played game knocking Farcry off that perch. The graphics are excellent on my pretty slow PC it's not even duocore and running windows XP. The weapons available are fine to get the job done no silly overkill stuff, why carry a bazooka to a knife fight I say. The missions don't have to be adhered to rigidly you can do your own thing in the game which I like a lot. The missions tend to overlap and get mixed up when I'm playing anyway so this game is ideal for me.
