If you pay close attention, you'll be amazed how many stars and future-stars are in this film as leads, seconds, and extras. The true story of the events surrounding the 6 June 1944 invasion of Normandy, France. Fairly massive production and very sweeping in its' tale. Definately belongs in the film library of all historians and militaria collectors.
This movie seems a little long...but well worth it. If you're into war movies, you gotta have this one. Based on some actual facts, an excellent leading men cast (I don't think they left anyone out), and great war scenes. If you've had someone in your past that was connected to D-Day, you've got to see this movie. If not, you still gotta see it to appreciate what our guys went through on D-Day. 5 Academy Awards nominations...whoooo, speaks for itself.
One of the best war and action movies ever produced. The film tells the story of the D-Day Normandy invasion of June 6, 1944 very well from the perspective of both the German and Allied sides. Excellent story telling and character development and true to facts.
