As engaging as ever, this is where the show, in some opinions, starts to de-rail without Duchovny's dour presence. I can't agree with that. Robert Patrick brings a fresh perspective as the somewhat hard-boiled, cynical, "just-the-facts, ma'am" John Doggett assigned to a project that he has no interest in and just as much enthusiasm for. We see Annabeth Gish for the first time. I still can't make up my mind whether she's a flake or really a dedicated investigator, still, this is just the start and characters develop. Good stuff but it is clear that the show is losing confidence. Stick with it though. This season has its own rewards.

I like the show, I'm A huge X-Files fan, thier is nothing to dislike about the show; I did had the entire series of the X-Files but the situation on money was very bad at the time and I had to sell all my DVDs I didn't want to do it but I did.
I love the X-Files. I haven't seen season 8 or 9, so I really looking forward to watching this one. I have heard nothing but good things about it.
Without Mulder the episodes are pretty weak. Perhaps they should have pulled the plug after season seven.
