The Paper Chase, Series One
'The Paper Chase' was a brilliant long running US-made TV series about student life in a law school, made in the 1970s. Rarely repeated on TV, this DVD is timeless great entertainment and fans of the show will enjoy revisiting this superb series. Sound and picture quality are very good, and all episodes are in colour. Highly recommended.

One of my all time favorite series. Like finding old friends again. I only had some very old VHS tapes of this series. Series cannot be found anywhere else. So nice to have this series on DVD. I have already watched the first two disks and I love it. I have the book, the movie DVD and now I am so happy to have all four seasons on DVD. LOVE IT.

The Paper Chase - True To Life - For A 1L
When you watch series' it is always a good idea to start with Season 1. I had rarely watched this program when it originally aired. Later I went to law school and some people had some of this on VHS. I was amazed at how true to life the series seemed. Life as a 1L (first year law student) is not much fun and this program displayed that, all the while making the lives of its protagonists a lot more interesting than those of mine and any of my classmates at Cornell. The series focuses on Hart, a somewhat naive Minnesotan, and his study group at Harvard Law. Professor Kingsford is who most of the episodes actually revolve around and his character is so iconic, law students today still refer to him. The DVDs themselves are one-sided (more durable) and come in a standard DVD ... When you watch series' it is always a good idea to start with Season 1. I watched this show when I was a teenager in 1978, and after not watching it since until 2023 it is quickly obvious how good this show was, and is! Many teachable moments contained in every episode that deal with the inescapable realities of life, no matter what century it is. The good values of hard work, loyalty, principles and virtues championed within the drama are something so lacking in any entertainment, or more importantly, most institutions today, and are much needed, especially to our youth. This show proves you can have both entertainment and time honored principles at the same time.
