This lovely old, vintage Mercury Galahad kit arrived this morning- much faster than expected. Everything is better than expected and as per the description. Some minor box repairs will be done, but not as much as I envisioned. I am very pleased with everything about this transaction. Unfortunately exchange rates are not favourable at the moment but the seller accepted my lower offer which made it worthwhile for me, as these old British designs have always been of interest. I absolutely love the model, the detail and the weathering, and am now anxious to get my twin "10000" similarly weathered to make the matching pair for "double-heading", which is how (as a child) I used to see them running on the West Coast main line, pulling "The Royal Scot" in the 1950s. The Royal Scot headboards are included, which is a nice added bonus and adds to the nostalgia. I haven't run them at all yet, so can't comment on the running, other than to say they're Bachmann, so I have no worries at all about that aspect. At last a Diesel that I Like
After waiting Years someone has actually produced an LMS Diesel in black to compliment my LMS Steam Engines. Bachmann Locos are usually well made and well detailed as the 10000 is. I expected it to be like the Green Versions around £100 but hay ho I got what I longed for.
