This recorder (and the previous model the BW780 and the latest model the BWT720) are excellent machines giving very good quality HD pictures and being able to record them (via twin tuners) to hard disc. They also have the virtually unique capability of copying films, documentaries etc (in fact any TV or radio programme available on Freeview in HD or SD) to Blu-Ray disc in perfect (no loss) quality. Very quickly too - copying 6 hours' worth of HD programming to a single 25Gb Blu-Ray disc in just over 20 minutes! Well chuffed with these machines! 3-D too (not on the 780) and BBC i-Player and other facilities over the web. Can hold 76 hours' worth of HD on the hard disc (BWT700) or 236 hours' worth on the BWT720. Fantastic! Highly recommended! For Further details see my reviews on Amazon (as Brian Lee) for the BWT700 (4*) or BWT720 (5*).Read full review

This is a technically excellent piece of kit let down by a badly designed menu system and a VERY slow Blu ray response. A good point is that the remote can be used to contol your TV , yet oddly you can't mute the sound. Despite being on th emarket for some time now there dosen't seem to be any other machines that come anywhere near it's long list of abilities. Well worth a look if your'e a technophobe.
