    Light up a good idea

    Easy to use and versatile for a variety of play options that include learning and invention at the same time. John Adams Hot Wires has the same components as Cambridge BrainBox, its predecessor presumably. It remains a good toy despite the competition from other similar products on the market. It is sturdy, spares are available and it is likely to last for generations of children (and their adults) despite the move to electronics being more 'micro' orientated now.

    Great bit of learning kit!

    Got this for my 5 year old and he loves it, all the different things he can make, whenever we make a circuit with the led or lamp we have to wait until it’s dark to prove it works, and best thing is he doesn’t realise he’s actually learning from it as it just fun too him!

    Super quality product

    I found the kit very good quality and very easy to use and build circuits, brilliant for kids too. However some of the experiments were repetitive with similar results. But for teaching children the principles of electricity and building circuits, it’s fantastic and would keep them entertained for hours.

    Great neat and tidy kit.

    Lots to do and fairly straightforward. Always good to build something that does something too, not just electronics but action electronics. Very expensive and overpriced though but will last for a long time. All in all, a great gift for someone "techy" but once you have made all the things it will probably be put away for months or years.
