    Simple Rain Gauge Perfect for Post Mount

    This is a basic rain gauge that has some big advantages to other models. The cylinder itself is glass which is better able to withstand Florida sun. The measurement scale is clear and easy to read. The numbers are not as big as on some other models which may be a drawback for some but its overall smaller size allows it to be inconspicuously mounted, in my case, on the back of my mailbox. Finally, the mounting bracket is durable plastic which has the benefit of rust resistance and has held up well after about a year of use.

    quality issue

    the plastic based used to insert into the ground is flimsy, bends easily an does not penetrate compacted soil. The glass beaker is durable and should survive many freeze thaws.

    It is accurate and can't beat the price

    I have had this product for many years, and I accidentally left it out in a freezing rain event, which cracked the gauge. So, I purchased another one. The accuracy is right on with the weather service I listen to after a rain event.
