Extremely slow filtration
The quality of the water after filtration is excellent. However it takes about an hour to get a gallon filtered. There is another type of pur maxione replacement filters that are shorter and filtered quickly unlike those. If need the purified water while you are cooking and you haven't filtered enough ahead of time, you are in for an unexpected delay. Also, the carbon "activation" time is 15 min soaked into water while the shorter filters required only 15 secobd of rinse under running tap water...Other that that, as I have already said, good filtration level.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Great price, fast ship, it was what it is, Works great, glad he had it, glad he bargained.
The Purolator X-filters much more in the 3 stages than Brita does in 2. Down side, it's slow, cost more, and there a bit of new filter prep before replacing them. Minor compared to how sweet the water tastes, how unreliable the water is around here, we rent so don't want to drop major bucks on a plumber installed undersink system. No room for 5 gallon jugs, live on the 4th floor no elevator, can't handle throwing out over 1000 plastic bottles/year, plus.....this is a weird one, openly addicted to Sodastream now, any flavor, many otherwise impossible flavors, zero sugar, I can make a morning soda (light tiny bubbles) that would make a red bull look like a Yoohoo, a Ka'Chava that runs at the sight of my morning sizzler. No mountain metals, no added herbs, no salt unless I want it. Room temp 2 gallon for cooking water, frig 2 gallon for makin drinks. The price was so good, I didn't even mind the cracked open one. Grateful he gave me all he had left at half the retail price, how could I complain, just took a week to get the carbon splinters out of my feet (kidding). Pur Water System Filters Are Top Notch!!
I have tried other water filter systems and I find that I like the Pur system the best. It's easy to work with, the color of the light on top of the pitcher tells you when it's time to change the filter, and I try to make sure that I have filters on hand so that I can change them promptly. I used "Brita" for a long time, but I think the water tastes better with Pur.. Also, you can use the filters for a long time before they really need changing, but I like to change them when the light turns yellow, the water tastes better to me when the light is green, (but that's probably just me) This is a good product, and I recommend it!Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

Worth waiting for: The best filtered water
It's been tested by several agencies and apparently really does filter lead, well enough to be used with lead-contaminated water. The taste of the filtered water is great--as good as the Brita regular filters and better than the Brita long-life ones. The downside is that they're slow, and sometimes very slow. The speed varies from filter to filter and sometimes over the life of each one. They're also hard to find. And warning: Pur makes a faster version that doesn't filter lead and is deceptively packaged (the filters are "certified lead-free" or something like that).Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
