    Works well and is heavy duty

    I wanted to split some large oak rings and had tried various axe styles, then was recommended this type of maul. I used it with a large (10lb) sledge hammer and it worked in splitting the rings. It appears to be good qua;ity - witsstaning a pounding with dledgehammer and definiysely works

    wedges

    I had three hammers to fit new handles to, two 14 lb one 6 lb when i acquired the hammer heads their were no wedges only old nails so i ordered the wedge set and have used all the larger wedges they were excellent ,easy to hammer into the shafts.

    Great tool, I split some really awkward ...

    Great tool, I split some really awkward logs with this, using a small lump hammer they split well, on some of the logs I drilled a 16mm hole to help it on it's way. Worked better on dryer logs when the have a small split on the end. All the logs I had previously cut to 30cm legs to fit the log burner. When I use it again I'll use my bigger sledge hammer hammer. Obviously the paint chips off the end of the wedge but the metal remains intact.
