    Not sure it’s worth buying an older Tomtom. I bought this second hand and tried to update it. Unfortunately, although you can still update it, the update is bigger then the capacity. I will have to buy an sd card to enable the upgrade. This is because you can no longer just have a UK map on it like my old Tomtom, it is UK and Western Europe and just doesn’t have the capacity. Who wants speed limits in Finland? I have uninstalled all the unwanted speed limits , voices etc but still only half the room needed for the update. Why can’t you just have Uk maps? I don’t drive abroad . I don’t know if capacity is an issue with newer models. Apart from this issue, the sat nav is great! Tomtom are far superior to other makes

    useful for emergency use

    I did know that tom tom were of poor quality before I bought it but as it will only be used in emergencies,and I bought it as a used item. It would not be suitable for everyday use as it too complicated to set a route,and the screen is too small for regular use. there are much better quality ones if I was buying new.

    Ideal for intermittant use.

    Only need it rarely for use when I don't know where I am going and it is ideal to keep in the cupboard for those tomes. Don't need lots of bells and whistles.
