About this product

Product Information

In Belfast Taxi the city's taxi drivers - of all ages and all backgrounds - tell their stories in their own words, covering everything from the beginnings of the public-hire and private-hire industries and the early days of industry giants like Value Cabs, to the dark days of the Troubles and the lives of the drivers that work at Belfast City Airport. Join Lee Henry as he tours the city in the company of the city's drivers, including Charlie, who drove members of the press throughout the Troubles; Majella, one of the very few women driving a West Belfast Taxi Association taxi-bus; Ralph, who worked for one of Belfast's private-hire firms from 1950; and Billy, a fully qualified blue badge taxi guide. Based on interviews with over thirty drivers, this is an authentic and candid chronicle of the city told by the people who know it best.

A problem free purchase, with the book arriving within the delivery estimate, securely packaged, as described and in stated condition. Communication was prompt, friendly, and professional throughout the entire process. I have found this seller to be reliable and offers good value. The book itself was in good condition and was of good quality. I have bought several books from this seller in the past and would not hesitate to do so again.

This seller has been extremely helpful. The booklets/magazines I ordered are personally valuable to me. Part of the positive experience is because the seller has an amazing selection. I hope to be ordering again soon. I appreciated the quality of packaging for the shipping that was used, ensuring safe arrival from the U.K.. Almost all the magazines (56) were better than described. I also appreciate how willing the seller was to work with me, being flexible, and easy to communicate with.
