I bought 2 lots of books from this seller; both were shipped in the same box, so I'll just repeat the feedback I left for the other half of the order: Superb packaging! I've been collecting old paperbacks for ... well, a long time, and these were the best-wrapped, best protected, best shipped box 'o books I've ever received! The books themselves were exactly as described in the photos, and the per-book value (using the advanced mathematics formula: total price / no. of books) was wonderful

The listing was accurate with clear photos. The book was carefully wrapped. For the price, it's in good shape. I intend on reading it rather than just collecting or selling. Thanks for the eBay coupon. The issue I had was USPS's media shipping, something Lola Rose Books has no control over. This item left LRB (New Mexico) on Aug. 8. From there, it went to Albuquerque, Jersey City, Richmond, Newport News, Richmond, Norfolk, VA Beach, Richmond, Norfolk, and back to VB on Aug. 19.

    Excellent version.

Even though this book has been paraphrased, The author is careful to leave footnotes as to the reason for the wording he has placed in it. If a person wants to read the Bible in our common day language and for a good understanding of what the book is all about, I would recommend this version. I have given copies to each of my Grand daughters. ( 18 -19 yrs old) They could not make sense of the KJV but now we can converse in an understanding not possible before.. If one has questions or doubts about a verse or thought in ANY version, cross reference them with study bibles, and concordances. But I would recommend this version for daily reading for any age. God Bless !

  • A Wonderful Paraphrase Edition

The Living Bible is a wonderful paraphrase edition of the Bible. It has since been made into a very good thought-for-thought Bible translation, The New Living Translation. While I would never encourage anyone to swerve away from a good solid word-for-word translation of the Bible, the Living Bible (as well as NLT) has been a great help over the years, 40-some years to be exact. I bought a used edition from EBay for someone in our church who had lost their original LB from way back when. They were thrilled to get their hands on this one!

  • God's Word

This is the version of the Bible by a man named William Tyndale who lived 1400/1500's. He was burned at the stake in England for his translating the Bible into English so that the common people could read the Bible and understand it's contents. William loved the truths of the Bible, which the Catholic church was not teaching the people, much like they are not teaching the people today, and for this reason he was persecuted. The lady who owned this Bible, must have been trying to find the truth altho her study notes that she wrote down do not include God's name Jehovah in one of her references, which can be found in this Bible at Psalms 83:18, but she must have done the best she could, with what knowledge she had. This is an easy read Bible and the scripture at 1 Corinthians 13:4-8 the ...

  • wonderful 45 year old bible in wonderful shape just unreal

This 1971 addition of this bible is wonderful the pages are in very good shape they are thicker and the writing does not show thru on the next page like a lot of newer versions do. By being Paraphrased it is a lot easier to read and understand it is hard to put it down as it reads like a book. Would recommend to anyone wanting to buy a bible and get something out of it. I brought several to give away as gifts.
