2016 release, the 11th studio album by the veteran alt-rock band. The Getaway is Red Hot Chili Peppers' first studio album since 2011's I'm with You. It was produced by Danger Mouse, who replaces Rick Rubin after twenty-five years and six albums as the band's producer, making it the first non-Rubin produced album since 1989's Mother's Milk. The album includes the singles "Dark Necessities" and "The Getaway". Production on the album began in 2014. However, the project was delayed for eight months due to bassist Flea suffering a broken arm sustained while snowboarding. The band features Flea, vocalist Anthony Kiedis, drummer Chad Smith and guitarist Josh Klinghoffer.

      Evolution of the chilies .

      Danger mouse took over for rick Rubin producing a job he has been doing since 1987 . the band is completely reborn for better or worse is for you to decide. There first single is a slow groove with a nice hook which of course praises Satan . ?????? You heard me . it seems to be a danger mouse specialty these days !!! there are very few funky bass lines from Flea just enough sprinkled in so we remember what they used to be. On a whole its a good album doesn't seem to be the same band though . if the fans follow there new direction well have to see . my opinion sit back relax and watch them evolve.

      Great Album

      Simply put: The whole album has a more mellow feel that their previous albums, which shows how much they have evolved. Great to listen to any time of the day, but highly recommended to listen to it during the night, which personally makes the album sound even better. Feasting on Flowers is my fav song on the album. Overall, personally, 4.5/5 a must buy for any fan

      Overall good, but the album can get a little droning

      Good music quality, but the album kind-of feels all of the same after a bit. Good for the car, but not sure if I would listen to at work for this reason.

      AWESOME

      I own every RHCP album out there. As I was not impressed with their last album The Getaway is amazing!! Love this album!! Each song is different from the last. Just love this album and highly recommend it.
