The Unbuilt Trope Of Female Stalkers Are NOT Funny
This film got an unfair rap as misogynistic as the years went on. Little does those rappers know that this film is far from it. The male lead is a sympathetic individual who is just trying to do the right thing while trying to get back with his ex. Alas, the female fan who's stalking him is horrid to keep on persisting in wanting him to take "their relationship" further even when he makes it clear to her that that will never happen. This film does not pander to misandrists or misogynists with stereotypes and double standards. The writing fleshes the characters out so as to keep the ones who are sympathetic from being unintentionally sympathetic. Plus, there is lots of tension to go around.
