Berlin Babylon is superb! Gets 96% rating on Rotten Tomatoes!!! That's how good it is.
One of the best crime/political/cultural series ever.. and I mean ever! Atmosphere, costumes, acting, script, music, drugs, sex, on and on. Season Four just finished shooting. I can't wait! Weimar Berlin circa 1929. This series has everything you could ever want, and makes one shudder, knowing what is to come with the rise of Der Fuhrer. Nasty nasty stuff but GREAT CHARACTERS AND ACTING. This series has a HUGE. budget with 5000 extras. In German with subtitles... which makes it even better.
