BioWare's critically acclaimed action-RPG debuts on PS4 with a new protagonist and setting in Mass Effect: Andromeda. The story of Andromeda begins between the second and third entries of the original Mass Effect trilogy, when each of the four Citadel Council races agree to send 20,000 people on a 600-year journey to help colonize planets in the Andromeda Galaxy. Gamers play as Sara Ryder or her twin brother Scott (both characters can be given customized first names and appearances) as they explore new planets, form relationships, and engage in real-time combat. Ryder can travel around the galaxy in a ship called Tempest, while planetary exploration takes place in an all-terrain vehicle from which players can scan for resources. Dialogue between characters plays an important role in Andromeda, with gamers choosing from four response types and occasionally an action prompt, and conversations may contain moral decisions that affect Ryder's relationships, some of which may grow romantic. Unlike previous games in the series, players are not bound by specific character classes. As they complete missions they can level up and unlock dozens of combat, tech, and biotics skills, and more than 300 skill upgrades. Gamers will also eventually unlock seven different profiles that add more bonuses to their preferred method of playing, and they can switch between four different profiles at any time. Combat in Mass Effect: Andromeda was designed to be faster and more fluid than in previous titles, with a new dynamic cover system and a jetpack that lets players hover in midair. Gamers can use guns, melee attacks, and special skills to attack foes, and they get help in battle from six squadmates, each with three active skills and two passive skills. Players can order their squad around the battlefield, choose how they want their skills to evolve, and they can also team up for special Power Combo attacks. Multiplayer fans can also join friends for co-op action.

Good game, with some overlooked bugs.
Good story, detailed combat, and an interesting universe. It does like to pause and load mid driving around a planet and god help you if you die while a cut-scene or a transition occurs, because then you'll be ending the game process and re-launching, no handling for those situations.

Enjoyed all 3 mass effects, but the Text size too small for big screen tvs on this one. beware
Although the graphics are cool, the text is soooo small as to be barely readable. Numerous complaints have been made to the authors to enlarge the text and, or make a sliding scale for text size, nothing has been done about it. Sadly I cannot even play the game without standing in front of my TV with my reading glasses on. I played all 3 mass effects and they are some of my favorite games, but this one, for me, is unplayable without an update to fix the font sizes. I'm 73 with okay vision, but wear glasses, so if you want other opinions, do a search for Mass Effect Andromeda text too small. People say it's okay on the computer, but on big screen TVs is where the trouble shows up. I hope they fix it. Have a great day

Not good
My only complaint is a big one. This will not fully download, at all. I have reset my PS4 and tried about 6 different times( and made sure I have over 100 Gb of space) Because of this I can only play about an hour and no more. Unsure how you can make a game that doesn't work.

This is my 4th favorite shop in the Citadel
excellent combat. mediocre story. Ive been playing this series since Shep chose his favorite shop in the Citadel. Andromeda is ok. Bioware's writing team is not as polished as it once was, so the story suffers but the combat is excellent

Awesome game, it's the first I have ever played in the series but because I enjoyed this game so much I am going to buy all the other games and play them all. Definitely started slow at first, I didn't care for it so much but the game really surprised me once I got through the tutorial.
