  • A Great Little Microphone

This mic is small and simple, but it's no lightweight. I haven't used this pair yet, but I am familiar with the design. It is great for strings, drums and, in my usual pro setting, accordion (well up to the job of amplifying a variety of accordions, including my vintage Excelsior 930). I usually deploy a small collection of Sennheiser D421s, but, for reasons I can't fathom, my usual playing partner doesn't like them. The NT5 is a more than adequate substitute. That is very high praise (also, the NT5 has no switches, which means the same guy has nothing to break). I'm not sure why lightness is a virtue in microphones.
