Very Helpful. Takes the Complex and Makes it Totally Understandable.

I am so grateful to have come across this book by recommendation from a Youtube channel. This book helps me fully grasp my own inner hysteria that I tried so desperately and thoroughly to escape for so long. I love how the author has seasoned so much and shares his insight from a more enlightened, grounded perspective because of it. Probably the best aspect of this book is that it is not written in technical jargon but instead lays out the theories and postulates in straightforward terms. I find myself re-reading sentences not because they are difficult but because he has made the space to accept what they say internally. I feel different after reading them. I had done serious and expansive self-work and spiritual work before coming to this book and I feel I can finally lay my head down ...

  • A Life Changer

I'm 65 years old, have worked very hard to improve my life. There have been so many mysteries that I've never understood. After reading this book, the mysteries have revealed themselves. I now know what I have been dealing with my entire life. It's painful and so deeply gratifying at the same time.

  • Sooo Worthy!

This book turns the lights on within a deeply wounded individual. That’s because the author found the real “light switch” from his own life experience.

  • Definitely worth the read!

Out of all I've read so far, this book is a great book b/c Pete Walker writes out of his own battles w/ CPTSD. The information in this book is so clear about our reactions when suffering & how they come from our childhood abuses or neglect. Also, he gives emotional flashback steps to come out of a flashback. This is a very good help for anyone who's suffered freeze, flight, fight or fawn & most people have & do suffer from these reactions! Lots of books out there but this is one of the tops & not hard to read!

  • Revelatory and Relatable

This book is on point and relatable to those who suffer from Complex PTSD. I can open the book to any page and get some good out of it. I can take my time and let the words sink in. The term 'abandonment depression' struck a chord with me. It was a piece of the puzzle that made sense to me and fit my experiences.
