    Sony HDR-CX240

    This is a great camera. I bought it for low light because I wanted to get video of bands playing local clubs. It works great for that, although like most camcorders the sound pressure level gets too high for it and it gets some distortion. Still way better than most smart phones. My only gripe is the Sony software makes it hard to download the high resolution videos, you have to use their software to edit. I wish I could just put them in Windows Movie Maker, but not.

    HDR-CX240

    A little smaller than a pop can. Which may be an issue for people with large hands, or long fingers as when the camera is in the crotch of the thumb reaching the record and zoom buttons might be a slight challenge. The protective lens cover is manual so one needs to remember to close it after use. The camera is turned on and off by opening and closing the monitor so you can't set it up and turn off the monitor to extend the battery life. If that's important, you'll need a unit with a viewfinder; they can usually be operated without using the monitor. Comes with a 1240 mAh battery which lasts over 2 hours. After market 1600 mAh batteries are available, but might not last any longer if the quality is not the same.

    Great camcorder, great value!

    I couldn't believe how small and light this camcorder was when I received it. It's easy to use, although I found the video import software a bit cumbersome. I find it much easier to remove the memory card from the camera, then pop it into my computer and drag and drop the files from there. The image quality is pretty good. I haven't tried it in extremely low light conditions yet, though. For the price, this is a great buy!

    Slight problem

    I usd the camera and it work really well. The picture was very good. The only thing was navigating through the different things you can do with the camera ie playback etc.I think this may be to the lack of use and forgetting the process and the fear of errase what I just recorded. Good value!
