Current slide {CURRENT_SLIDE} of {TOTAL_SLIDES}- Best-selling in Laptop Port Expansion Cards
I've had two of these so far and they've been great, adding a fair bit of extra speed to data transfers from USB hard drives. I did note that USB 3 memory sticks didn't seem a huge amount faster than on a USB 2 port but I have not proven this, USB 3 external hard drives seemed a lot faster though. This device draws it's power from the laptop, don't overload the device but it handles three USB devices without too much of a problem. The only real issues I have found is that the device gets very warm, the supplied drivers for Windows 7 don't work, the middle port is quite lose on both the devices I have. On a personal note it annoys me that when I unplug a USB device I often end up pulling the card out with it. The drivers are available online from the manufacturers website for Windows 7 and 8. I found that Windows 10 has it's own driver already. Bottom line - It's cheap and has a few niggles but it gives you almost USB 3 speeds for older laptops.Read full review

Heats up quite a bit and stays hot whether in use or not, even when disabled in bios and OS. The USB ports are so close together it is impossible to occupy all three ports simultaneously. Works better on some machines; not happy with Lenovo X220 but ok on ZBook G2. The metal plates covering over the ports are weak, easily damaged if not careful when plugging/unplugging. This is cheaper to replace than repairing the USB ports in computer, so would use it on that respect.

Bought to upgrade an older laptop (only four USB 2.0 ports). It provides more and faster file transfer; unfortunately the mini-cd provided (drivers) could not be read (on any of five different computers - Win 7 and Win10) but fortunately was recognized and installed drivers for both 7 and 10 from the internet. Worth the money and I may well buy another for another older laptop. Unfortunately I now have to amend my review - I did buy another, but now after less than two months, BOTH no longer work. Occasionally(!) when the device is inserted, a message appears that "this device may work quicker if inserted in a USB3 socket" (!) Other devices (USB sticks, external Hard drives) are not recognised and do not work, and the card itself becomes extremely hot - is this the cause of the problems?

Worked out of box with GNU/Linux, guess it would probably work just fine with recent Windows'. Drivers were supplied on a CD. A great addition for laptops without USB3 ports. The only con I noticed is that ports are a bit close to each other, so if you have a huge USB drive you might not be able to use all 3 ports. Other than this, it's A-OK.
