Worst sequel ever
A truely bad film. Non of the humour or likeable characters of first film. Only obtained to complete the series. Only buy to see how poor it is and then only for a few quid.

I bought this film for a treat for the husband . as he loves sci fi films. as we already had starship troopers 1 i wanted to get the second film. i bougt it off ebay because you always get a good deal.

They're coming back to wipe us out
This is a great movie. Its completely different from the first but all the things people complain about this movie make it good as far as i'm concerned. Its alot smaller than the first, with only about a dozen cast. It centres around a group of troopers who get stranded on an infested planet, they find an outpost and dig in, a heavy storm and bugs surround them, theres no way out on the ground. But apart from the bugs outside theres something inside picking them off one by one. It obviously a very small budget movie, but that gives a great claustrophobic feel and Richard Burgi is great as the corny tough guy captain Dax, a murderer who got tired with his superiors bad decisions and snapped. The only real problem is its a bit predictable, but most films are so thats ok.This is a great movie. Starship Troopers 2: Hero Of The Federation (DVD 2004)
A direct to video sequel of one of the greatest sci-fi epics of all time, this is exactly what you would expect: static, low budget, derivative, horribly acted and bearing only the slightest resemblance to the original. The FX are laughable, the acting atrocious, the plot straight out of many previous sci-fi ditties like THE HIDDEN and THE THING and BLADE RUNNER. One of the things that made the original such a masterpiece is that it is first and foremost a brilliant satire, and a sci-fi epic second. The sequel jettisons any attempt at satire and sticks several people on a single set for the majority of the flick. The only thing that makes it worthwile is some truly disgusting gore effects in the second half. Also, there is a ravishing if scary young blonde who is horny and nekkid in many ...
