4D maglite good quality flash light. Already have 2D cell and mini mag AA battery. Never had any problems with either on had both for years just lately up graded both of them 260 lumen led in the 2D and 150 lumen led in the mini. Both had halogen bulbs from factory and was bright. As time went on they were geting dim so just up graded to led bulbs. And althoughhaven took my 4D maglite of package yet plan on up grading to led on this one too. Best flash light out there my opinion that last

I bought this flashlight to replace one that I owned for probably 20 years. The new ones are not the same as the old ones. My old flashlight experienced battery leakage that froze all the batteries in side and I couldn't get them out. The new light has two inches less checkering on the barrel of the light which makes it a little more slippery to pick up and hold. Also beware of the "Krypton" lamp or bulb. It is not the standard flashlight bulb that was in the older flashlight but a two prong light bulb much the same as their Mini Mag. So, if you bought an expensive LED standard light bulb to make your batteries last longer, then you are out of luck because you can't use it anymore. I wish I had known that and I would have looked around to see if I could have found one of the older models.

Bulb should be LED. Adequate for lighting the way but certainty not like a Cree brand flashlight.

I have owned Maglites all my adult life. I like them because they are rugged, dependable, and Made in the USA. While they are heavy and bulky, that also gives them an advantage over some of the cheaper made or smaller flashlights as they can be used for self defense. I trained with one as part of my law enforcement training in the US Coast Guard, and am impressed with the durability and versatility. I recommend keeping one at home and in your car within easy reach, and taking self defense training with it. You can't always legally carry a weapon, but you can always legally carry a flashlight. With most other flashlights, you only have light. With a Maglite, you have versatility and dependability.
Shipping wicked fast, style looks great. The actual lumen light bulb is horrible. It's like they took it from a toy car and installed in the flashlight lol Do not buy!! I'm going to see if I can install a LED lumen. Over all it's a waste.
