The Definitive story of D Day
This DVD tells you the story of D Day from both the allies and the Germans perspective. Subtitles for the French and German speech is a must to understand the story completely and the film does not disappoint here. Add to this the array of big name stars and some ( at the time ) upcoming ones and this film is a must for all WW2 fans.

The Most Famous War Movie Ever
I have now seen this film many times, and bought the DVD for the benefit of my grandson who is studying WW2. We watched it together, and as we did, I soon realised that it had lost none of its impact, despite its age. Although its high production values and excellent acting enhance it greatly, what really lifts this film for me is the fact that everything in it is an unvarnished record of the events of early June, 1944, and that it is completely true to Cornelius Ryan's excellent book on which it is based.I have now seen this film many times, and bought the DVD for the benefit of my grandson who is studying WW2. We watched it together, and as we did, I soon realised that it had lost none of its impact, despite its age. Although its high production values and excellent acting enhance it greatly, what really lifts this film for me is the fact that everything in it is an unvarnished record of the events of early June, 1944, and that it is completely true to Cornelius Ryan's excellent book on which it is based.
