This is probably the most pleasingly cast offering of this tale, their voices being more suitable for the period than today's (jargonised speach pattern voiced) actors can manage, it is as good as the first BBC offerings of Persuasion or Pride and Prejudice; a tale from a time when their lives must have been an educated, pleasing journey. Brilliant treatment of the story and faithful to Jane Austens plot line. (So many scriptwriters seem to think they can improve on perfection...!) Patrick Doyle's music score is beautiful. Will watch again...and again.
