Plenty of action, moving at a good pace: far faster than Marco Polo or Shogun. Like Dunkirk, or the Serb's Field of Crows at Kosovo, Masada is celebrated by Jews as a glorious defeat. This 6 hour epic tells the tale of the 4-year siege. The clear subtext is the 1945-8 battle for Palestine against the British Army (British actors play Romans, as usual). The celebration of the modern IDS will upset some viewers.
