I really enjoyed this when it turned up on the TV so was glad to be able to buy my own copy and at a great price. There are shades of Coward,'s Cavalcade and none the worse for that Do buy it if you get the chance I'm sure you will enjoy it

The happy breed
Lovely movie, in colour. The film is set in WW1 . Quite sad in places. I would recommend seeing it on a cold winters night.

This Happy Breed, a happy ebay purchase
It was great to find the DVD of This Happy Breed. It is a fascinating film, beautifully filmed in 1940s technicolour. In many ways it is a social history documentary enacted with some of the best character actors and actresses of the day. Noel Coward's dialogue is brilliant, and the film is a nostalgic journey into everyday urban life in the first half of the twentieth century.
