    The book theif

The book was recommended to me and I wasn't sure if I would enjoy it. I'm about halfway through and it's good. Believable characters, I like to have an image of the person I'm reading about and I get that. The plot is at time in history that we all know about and can imagine being part of that world. Nazi Germany was a scary place during during ww2 and to be a child during that time. Enjoyable so far, would recommend. I think it has been made into a film so may be worth a watch?

  • Gripping!

This book had me hooked from the very first page! Fascinating choice of narrator. A wonderful story written from an unusual viewpoint but also a wonderful insight of real historical events from a child's perspective. I passed my first copy on while on holiday and instantly regretted it - bought the book again a year later! It's now on the must read list at my local senior school.

  • This book stays with you

I couldn’t put this book down. Not usually the type of book I read but it gripped me from the start. I thought death telling the story was fantastic. Such a compelling read. Definitely recommend.

One of the best books I have read, I could read it over and over! It is sad, funny, exciting, heartbreaking and somehow heartwarming at the same time
