  • Around the world with Fitzpatrick ( the last years)

This well made set encompasses the later , WWll and post war shorts heading into the 1950's. My favorite is Jasper National Park in Canada, then a railroad destination. The quality and dryness of the last two volumes of this series is continued here. Color and sound is great, in one of the last shorts, an Eastman color print was used instead of Technicolor and its maudlin off-brown and red tones are quite sickly. The two-reel New York special at the end was worth the price of admission. I wish there could be a volume 4, as some countries were never represented, (pre WWll Germany for one) perhaps they were never made because of political climate. More American cities would have been nice as well. During WWll Loews theatres would put together programs of up to an hour and a half of ...

  • Took ages finding the great series as I,d forgotten his name from 1990,s videocassetting off tv.

I love the lush 1930,s early colour and the places visited to compare them with nowadays. Some places have changed beyond recognition since 1939. I like the worldwide aspect of these epic golden era early colour films.

  • Travel Back Through Time

This is a very nostalgic look at travel sites around the world, circa the 1940s/1950s. IT is very entertaining, and the footage is priceless. A bargain at the price. Highly recommended for those who want a glimpse of the world as it was.
