Raymond Murphy does the best approach to teaching English.
I have used this book for countless overseas students with great success. Raymond Murphy approaches the subject in a very user-friendly fashion, by outlining the rules on one page followed by a relevant lesson on the next. His book features a diagnostic self-evaluation section at the back which lists several questions, each one pertaining to a single facet of the English language; if the student gets one wrong, they can then look up the relevant lesson and learn the rule. I recommend this book to anyone wishing to learn English. (BA Hons, CELTA)I have used this book for countless overseas students with great success.
