Surreal entertainment
Astonishing, baffling, incomprehensible: in fact a classic David Lynch puzzle-movie. It lasts 3 hours but seems much longer. Hats off, though, to Laura Dern who, in a brilliant multi-layered performance, plays an actress who begins to feel that her own life is beginning to resemble the plot of a film she is making. To be fair, fans of Lynch's surreal entertainments will enjoy this.

The sale was seamless and the following comments in no way reflect on the seller whose descriptions and actions were exemplary. Unfortunately the film was a turkey of the highest order. I bought the film on the strength of a previous Lean film, 'Mullholland Drive' which I loved - but Inland Empire was bleak and incomprehensible to a degree beyond description. I switched off after one and a half hours of true missery. Fans of David Lynch will like the surreal nature of this film - others, who aren't fans, won't. One of his most confusing, yet ultimately satisfying, movies that demands to watched over and over again. Brilliant, strange, darkly humorous and extremely surreal, this is one that film fans won't want to ignore!

Would have been good/excellent except for the annoying change in sound volume of my dvd. The voice track was often soft and not clear, and the music track was extra loud.
